Artist: Air and Earth Designs I've always loved beads and color - I first got into beading when I worked for a fabric store during my college years. Color is a major inspiration of mine - I adore the way color plays with light. I bought lampwork for my own jewelry creations for awhile, and just fell in love with the medium.
My beads are made from Effetre (Moretti), Vetrofond (Murano), Bullseye, Czech, and/or Lauscha glass, then annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for lasting durability.

 | Artist: Caitlin Burch Glassworks Caitlin Burch grew up with glass. An award winning, second generation glassblower, she spent time in the studio with her mother and father from infancy. “My mother would work with me in a pack on her back, and my father would let me help him on the bench; starting when I was three or four”.
Now with two lines of work, handblown glass and lampwork jewelry, Burch is practicing both crafts. “The fact that I work in two related fields, [offhand blown glass and lampworking] has allowed me the unique and challenging opportunity to incorporate individual techniques and skills of each into the other.”

Artist: CEM Lampwork I know I will be making lampwork glass beads for as long as I can. I love the different color combinations, and the chance to express myself creatively through lampworking is great~ plus I work at night while the kids are asleep (they go to bed early).
I used to make jewelry, but after getting started w/ lampworking I haven't had much time. I have discovered that lampworking is my true passion and what I have had the most success at! Thanks for taking the time to read about me!

Artist: Deb's Glass Designs Once I had the chance to work at the torch, I was hooked! Since that day, I have played and practiced and made more beads than I can count. Of course, many have been given to my daughters for their hemp necklaces, and some have ended up at the bottom of our fish tank. I will only sell my best work.
The art of lampworking has a Zen effect, serving to calm and focus both the artist and the viewer, enchanting both with the beauty of this molten solid. I hope you enjoy my beads as much as I love making them.

 | Artist: Flying Frog Glassworks Nestled amongst the hills of the north Quabbin Region in Massachusetts in a barn attached to a pre Revolutionary War home I craft, through the ancient art of lampworking, many and varied art objects.
Through careful manipulation, solid glass rods and hollow borosilicate tubing are turned molten with the aid of an oxygen/propane driven torch. With this molten material and inspiration derived primarily from single celled creatures found in both the plant and animal kingdoms, my beads, jewelry, ornaments, and small sculptures are made.
My choosing to use predominately borosilicate glass, which has a complex coloration due to the oxides within each rod mixing with the oxygen/propane ratio, lends a mystical quality to my work. A soft palette which blends and melds to harmonize and surprise both myself and the viewer is what excites me and keeps my work fresh.

 | Artist: Gossamer Glass Studios Brian Kerkvliet has worked with glass since 1977. He has taught workshops in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the U.S., including Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Arts and Crafts and Red Deer College. Currently, he runs Gossamer Glass Studios at Inspiration Farm, a hot glass/flameworking studio in Bellingham, Washington. He focuses on several different aspects of glasswork, recently exploring Italian furnace techniques with a contemporary twist. He is also known for his Flameworked goblets, sculpture, beads, and his furnace blown goblets, with an emphasis on incorporating flameworked imagery onto the pieces. Brian's style is fairly diverse, encompassing many facets of glass art. However, the fun and whimsy expressed in his work shines throughout the entire spectrum of his pieces. From intimate cosmic and vessel beads to sculptural figurative goblets and the Cosmic Kid series, a joy for life and technical expertise is expressed in each and every piece.

Artist: Jeri Changar Designs I have been a serious designer of beaded jewelry since 1991 and have created my own lamp work beads and fused glass pieces since 1997.
Working with the fused glass and the lamp work beads can be totally consuming. Each design is like creating an abstract painting. The color and shape in addition to the variety of possibilities as determined by layering the glass or creating a cluster of beads is what drives the creation. One piece leads to another, then to a series, and then to a body of work. The ideas come at all times. The colors, shapes and textures are always with me as I imagine how each creation is going to look.
