Artist: Air and Earth Designs I've always loved beads and color - I first got into beading when I worked for a fabric store during my college years. Color is a major inspiration of mine - I adore the way color plays with light. I bought lampwork for my own jewelry creations for awhile, and just fell in love with the medium.
My beads are made from Effetre (Moretti), Vetrofond (Murano), Bullseye, Czech, and/or Lauscha glass, then annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for lasting durability.

 | Artist: Ann Brauer Quilt Studio I am a self-taught quiltmaker and have been supporting myself as an artist for more than twenty years. The basic shape I use is a block or square. I make each square one piece at a time carefully choosing the tiny strips of fabric so that the colors and designs blend to create a new complex and vibrant effect. The fabric is all cotton with a cotton batting. The quilts can be used on the bed or they can be hung as wall hangings. I attach Velcro on the back for hanging.

 | Artist: Art by Dana Brown I’m a daily painter, popping the top on a Diet Mountain Dew by 9:00am every day. I love morning light and the clarity of a new day, so I usually paint till mid-day and if things are going well, continue until 5:00pm. With my two goofy dogs asleep under the drawing table and the music as loud as they’ll allow, this is a perfect day for me. Fifteen years ago I made a commitment to grow as an artist. What I lacked in courage I hoped I could make up in determination. I learned quickly it is a self-directed mission toward a self-defined goal requiring desire, discipline, and hours of self-motivation.

 | Artist: Artist of the Andes Retablos are sophisticated folk art in the form of portable boxes filled with brightly colored figurines arranged into intricate narrative scenes. From the 16th to the 19th centuries, Retablos were carried through the mountains by Spanish priests as portable religious shrines for Catholic saints.
Nicario's compositions depict religious, historical and everyday events. His hands move quickly and with confidence to fashion people, animals, and mythical figurines as he creates poignant scenes from a doughy mixture of boiled potato and gypsum powder. For his sculpting process, Nicario's only tool is a small piece of wood resembling an enlarged toothpick.
