Artist: Skip & Racheal Mathews We create intricate colors and patterns on copper without the use of paints or chemicals. Using an oxyacetylene torch, we make the varied colors by the number and length of times that heat is applied. Coloring is also influenced by the air content on a particular day. Therefore, each piece is quite unique. A polyurethane finish prevents colors from fading or changing.

 | Artist: Grand Natural Products In his studio, Wayne sculpts each tree with wire, flame, and metal to relate each tree to the rocky environment he has chosen. The tree is anchored firmly in the stone with a tap root for security, and buttressing roots seek support and nourishment in the crevasses. The trunk and limbs portray the unique character imparted by time and adversity. Split trunks and twisted limbs become sanctuaries for other creatures. The new twigs seek the sun in an unending need for life and renewal.

 | Artist: James Moore Sculpture Some twenty-eight years ago as I sat under the shade of a large walnut tree, my attention was drawn to one of its fallen branches. It was small and old and it changed my life forever. It was with this small piece of walnut that I began my life as an artist. Since that time my work has taken two distinct directions.
One is heavily influenced by the rich tradition of classical sculpture with its focus on realism. The other direction my work has taken reflects my passion for abstract expressionism and minimalism.

 | Artist: Jon Michael Route You will find images of metalsmithing or metalwork. Some are functional, some purely decorative, but all designed and executed by my hand, by myself. I work with several alloys and types of metal, including pewter. It is silver-grey in color, functional, very soft, and has a warmth not found in other metals.
My newest works are flat-panel metal wall pieces and 3-D sculptural wall pieces. They make use of richly colored heat induced patinas and textured metal, on pewter, copper, brass and bronze.

Artist: Village Pewter In 2000, Donald left full-time teaching to become a pewtersmith. As a teacher and craftsman, he understands that spinning and casting in pewter calls for the same patience as engaging a bored teenager.
As a student of the art, he values the legacy of the beautiful and functional utensils that have lived on as family treasures. His designs recall the care and aesthetics of those early artisans. His handcrafted pieces appeal to those who collect for this and later generations and who value the simple, soft, and subdued texture and color of pewter.

 | Artist: Jeff Tritel Sculpture Over the years, Tritel has challenged himself with most mediums. He has sculpted in wax as a first step to the lost-wax method of bronze casting and he has fabricated monumental mixed media pieces incorporating the contrasts of furs and fiberglass, bronze screening and pearlescent lacquers. His work mainly reflects a figurative medium and he often draws from fantasy, mythology and psychology for his subject matter.
Today after thirty years of devotion to sculpture and the creative process, Jeffrey Tritel and his wife/partner, Bonnie, are creating Jeffrey's optimum working environment. On the grounds of their ten-acre estate in Grass Valley, California, they have built a 4,000 square foot studio which houses Jeffrey's workshop and gallery. Around the studio, melding with the landscaping are monumental sculptures, garden statuary, ponds, pathways, flora and fauna all designed to create a place to learn about art.

Artist: RedCatRun Studio Hand crafting silver & gold jewelry on the shores of Lake Simcoe, I forge, cast and fabricate to original designs. Taking inspiration from the woods around me and the waves nearby, I work from nature and an organic ethic.
I am also inspired by industrial and mechanical applications, and interpret these into some of my designs. I am scientist trained and spent many years in industry worldwide. To take my creative designs and ideas, and to apply them to metalworking is a satisfying link back to my scientific roots.
