 | Artist: Joe Christensen Pottery My work is wheel-thrown and fired in a soda kiln. I use both porcelain and stoneware clay and fire the kiln to 2300 degrees. I formulate my own glazes and intentionally decorate my work while pursuing the unexpected results of a soda firing. Although I produce a variety of work, my passion and area of interest is in producing large-scale vases and jars, (3-5 feet in height). Large forms are spectacular canvases on which to show the organic beauty of soda-fired clay.
My paintings have changed over time and I am currently working with both acrylic and watercolor canvases. The paintings contain abstract and representational elements. I start with a general idea of colors that I want to explore. Then, as the layers of color build, I am mindful of their interaction and add detail. I try to achieve a sense of beauty in my paintings, the source of which, I hope, remains a bit mysterious.

 | Artist: Flinn Designs Artist Jill Flinn, has been designing and creating bas relief sculpture paintings since 1990. Essentially, she creates her own canvas on which to paint. Each piece begins as an original relief sculpture in paperclay. Some of these sculptures are cast in paperclay and polyurethane. All are original acrylic paintings. Paperclay is a sculpting compound she uses as it air hardens and does not warp or shrink as does earthen clay.
Upon completion, the pieces are matted in acid free white mat board and framed in black, 1-1/2 inch deep metal frames, by her husband, Steve Flinn.

 | Artist: Dry Pigment Paintings by Diane French Working beyond the limitations of culture or tradition, I create images using only my hands as tools. I have developed this technique through the study of, and experience with, the natural characteristics and innate qualities of raw pigments. Pure pigments, in powder form, are pressed by hand into the gritted surfaces of wood panels and paper.
I am involved with the development of several series, translating some of the best non-verbal human experiences, feelings and emotions we share, into fine art. Enjoy the view, and peace my friends !

 | Artist: Jonas Gerard Fine Art Bringing to life the tradition of abstract expressionism, Jonas Gerard emerged fifty years ago into the art scene with work which has currently evolved into a mesmerizing explosion of color, contrast and movement. And like the great contemporary Masters, such as Willem DeKooning, Jackson Pollock, Hans Hoffman and Franz Kline, Gerard has found his very own style of abstraction which is continuously growing and developing.
Years of passion and dedication to his work has brought him to the level he has achieved. His work has been exhibited and collected all over the United States and abroad, in private as well as in public collections. Jonas currently maintains a private waterfront studio in Miami Beach and recently opened a gallery in Asheville.

 | Artist: Fire Light Designs FireLight Designs is a business Darlene started in 2001. She not only paints in watercolors, but also does matting and framing, and designs and creates jewelry. She accepts commissions for paintings, framing art work, and for jewelry. "I try to bring the color, texture and design from painting into my jewelry designs. I combine elements in ways you won't see in other jewelry. I started FireLight Designs during the period of my life when my mother was dying from cancer. I saw this as a way to give birth to something new, something that I knew she would be proud of me for accomplishing.

 | Artist: Jayne Baron I work in colored pencil and pastel. Colored pencils are perfect for the smaller cameos I enjoy doing, and intricate details. Pastels are ideal for adding deep, rich color in larger areas.
Portraiture is the most interesting and challenging area of painting for me. A good portrait combines beauty, likeness and insight into the character of the subject. As I've matured spiritually I have come to appreciate the profound value of every person. To render a likeness that expresses the beauty and character of the subject is for me an act of worship.
