 | Artist: Bird in a Skirt
Bird in a Skirt was created in 2004 by Vickey Jang as a way to sell the bags and clothing she crafted in her home studio. Paper goods were shortly added to the list, and before Vickey knew it, stationery had taken over the site as well as most of her free time.
In January 2006, Bird in a Skirt re-emerged as a stationery retailer and wholesaler. It remains true to both its roots and original aim of brining you simple but thoughtful designs that evoke a sense of nostalgia.

Ampersand Cards is a dreamer's dream come true. One of my earliest cards reads, "I decided that the world of work was not conducive to joy, and so I became a dreamer of dreams that come true. I'm much happier now."
My dream was (and still is) to have my work be more congruent with my creative spirit, to live the life I imagined for myself when I was 17, by letting my creative self breathe deeply and dance. My hope is that my cards will encourage others to dream and do and to expect their dreams to come true, too.

Carye currently resides in North Portland with her now 18-year-old cat and is a collector of many things ranging from bathtub postcards to green crayons. Her artmaking is informed by the rich tradition of Chinese woodblock prints, her Ireland experiences, maritime imagery, contemporary children's book illustrators like Calef Brown, and old-fashioned advertising.

With the intention of preserving the near lost art of handwritten correspondence, each notecard is created by Kristine, Imagine That Art Studio's owner/artist. Each card is signed and suitable for framing. With the help of her tabletop letterpress, a set of artists' quality watercolors and a small assortment of paper, Kristine's notecards are created from her own original illustrations.

Born and raised in San Francisco, I work in Oakland and live in Berkeley, California. Pretty much self-taught, I have over seven years of experience in graphic design. I do a lot of custom design work including wedding invitation collateral and business identities.
What inspires my work? Everything. I look at what surrounds me -- art, music, talented friends, family, organic designs, photos, dogs, old signs, food, paper, architecture, movies, packaging, maps, stickers, and much more.
